How does Lightning Lane Premier Pass differ from Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass?

All three Lightning Lane passes enable you to skip the standby line and use the Lightning Lane entrance to join a shorter line for select theme park attractions and experiences.

However, Lightning Lane Premier Pass differs from Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass in several ways:

  • Provides More Flexibility: With Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you don’t have to choose arrival windows for Lightning Lane attractions and experiences. You can enter Lightning Lane entrances for the experiences you want, when you want (subject to availability). With other Lightning Lane passes, you must choose an arrival window for each Lightning Lane experience.
  • Includes Each Available Lightning Lane Experience in One Park: Lightning Lane Premier Pass gives you one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience in one park for one day. This includes Lightning Lane Multi Pass experiences and Lightning Lane Single Pass experiences in that park.
  • Lightning Lane Premier Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass both include photo perks—so you’ll receive digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day, captured with Disney PhotoPass Service. Plus, access Disney PhotoPass Lenses. Disney PhotoPass Terms and Conditions apply.
    • These photo perks are not included with Lightning Lane Single Pass.

Eligibility

In order to purchase any Lightning Lane pass, you must have valid park admission. Park reservations may also be required, depending on the date of your visit. Please see theme park reservation requirements.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass Pro Tips
Pro-tips for Lighting Lane Premier Pass
Yes - they do sell out!

During the holiday season, we have seen Lightning Lane Premier Pass sell out.

  • Plan ahead so you can act fast: Lightning Lane Premier Pass is more expensive - there is no doubt about it. But, with sell-outs becoming common, don’t wait to purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can purchase at 7a ET 7-days before arrival. Decide what you want to do BEFORE that time, then... As soon as your 7-day window opens, secure your pass for the park you want.
  • Plan strategically: If Lightning Lane Premier Pass for your park of choice is sold out, you might need to rethink your strategy. Consider alternatives like the Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass, though these require reservations and don’t offer the same flexibility.
  • Budget accordingly: Lightning Lane Premier Pass is a splurge - and then, during the particularly busy times of year, there can be surge pricing. You know your budget -- think about it. Is the convenience worth the cost. (But... do those considerations BEFORE your purchase window opens.)
  • These DO sell out - Lightning Lane Premier Pass has limited availability, so... these do sell out.
Frequently Asked Questions - Lighting Lane Premier Pass at The Walt Disney World Resort

  • How much does it cost? The short answer is... it depends. (Sorry!) Prices for Lightning Lane Premier Passes vary by date and theme park. At launch, prices will range from $129 to $449 (per pass, plus tax), with the highest prices falling on a limited number of days over peak travel periods. Eligible Guests will be able to view prices in the My Disney Experience app. Some initial pricing:
    • Magic Kingdom: $329 to $449, plus tax
    • Hollywood Studios: $269 to $349, plus tax
    • EPCOT: $169 to $249, plus tax
    • Animal Kingdom: $129 to $199, plus tax
  • Is it worth it? Assessing value is SO challenging -- there are SO many factors... and I can't possibly know what is most important to you. I try to give you the facts, and you can assess if it is worth it.
    • It is a lot of money. There is no doubt about that. Even at the lowest price of $329 per person for Magic Kingdom, that's an additional $1,316 for a day of magic for a family of four with this new premium pass. Is that amount of money worth it to skip the regular line whenever you want to?
    • It is less than a Walt Disney World VIP tour. Those go for $450.00/hour to $900.00/hour for a minimum of 7-hours, so... I know that isn't saying much, but...
    • This service might be worth it for your group if you’re okay with paying extra for convenience - you won’t have to book Lightning Lanes all day, run back and forth across the park, or fight with scheduling conflicts like dining reservations.
  • What are the photo perks included with Lightning Lane Premier Pass? Lightning Lane Premier Pass includes the following photo perks:
  • After I purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass, where can I view and/or modify my pass? To view and/or modify your pass, open the My Disney Experience app and tap on the Lightning Lane Premier Pass section of the home screen. Then, you’ll be able to:
    • View details about your Lightning Lane Premier Pass—including your selected theme park, date and travel party.
    • Modify the date or theme park for your Lightning Lane Premier Pass, subject to availability.
    • Note: Lightning Lane Premier Passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

  • Can I use a Lightning Lane Premier Pass at more than one park? Short answer - NO. Lightning Lane Premier Pass gives you one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in one park for one day.

    • All attractions and experiences are subject to availability. Inclement weather, downtimes, operating hours and refurbishments may impact the availability of any attraction or experience.

  • How do I redeem my Lightning Lane selection on the day of my park visit? Just as with other Lightning Lanes, you will go to the Lightning Lane entrance of your selected experience at your scheduled arrival window. To redeem your selection, you'll tap in at the Lightning Lane entrance using a MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, Key to the World Card or ticket card that is linked to MyDisneyExperience and your valid theme park admission.

    • All attractions and experiences are subject to availability. Inclement weather, downtimes, operating hours and refurbishments may impact the availability of any attraction or experience.

  • How to virtual queues work with Lightning Lane Premier Pass? The short answer - You don't have to worry about virtual queues.
    • There are currently virtual queues at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.
    • If you want to know more about virtual queues at The Walt Disney World Resort, you can go here: https://yensid.travel/WDW-VirtualQueue
    • BUT... if you have Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you don't have to worry about the virtual queue. You get to skip the regular light Tiana's Bayou Adventure or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot.
    • Because Lightning Lane Premier Pass is only available for one park, you wouldn't be able to use your Lightning Lane Premier Pass for both attractions.
      • If you wanted to do both of those attractions in the same day, you would have to get a Lightning Lane Single Pass for the other attraction.
  • Do I have to select which attraction I will go on at a specific window of time? Nope. That is the advantage of Lighting Lane Premier Pass -- you can skip the regular line whenever you want.
  • With Lightning Lane Premier Pass, can I make different selections for some members of my travel party? Yes, but... each person gets to ride the attraction one time per day. You will be able to track that in the MyDisneyExperience app.
  • Does a Lightning Lane Premier Pass include access to Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions? Yes! I have the list of attractions that are included above.
  • Can I still use Lightening Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass? You can -- and one might want to do that if they are going to visit another theme park in the same day, but... IMPORTANT: Lightning Lane Premier Pass is available for one theme park.
  • Can I purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass for one day - and Lightning Lane Multi-Pass for other days? Yes. Given the limited availability of Lightning Lane Premier Pass, I would probably make that your priority.
  • Can I add Lightning Lane Premier Pass before I arrive? YES! For qualifying guests (see above), you can purchase at 7a ET 7-days before your arrival.
  • Do I have to purchase Lightning Lane - either Multi Pass or Single Pass or Premier Pass? Absolutely not. The traditional standby queues are still available at most attractions and experiences. There are times when Disney uses a 'virtual queue' for select attractions or experiences, which you would get via the MyDisneyExperience app. But there is no cost to get into the virtual queue.
  • Can I purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass and/or Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass in the same day? The short answer - YES! Reminder that Lightning Lane Premier Pass is available for one park. Therefore, just as an example, you might want to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for another attraction if you are planning on Park Hopping later in the day. More on Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass at YenSid.Travel/LightningLane.
  • When can I begin booking Lightening Lane reservations?See above, but...
    • For guests staying at qualifying Walt Disney World Resort hotels, you can book 7-days before you arrive... for your entire trip;
    • Lightning Lane Premier Pass are limited and subject to availability.
  • Does it make sense to purchase Lightening Lane Premier Pass if I'm arriving later in the day? In most cases, probably not, but you can check MyDisneyExperience. Remember that Lightning Lane Premier Pass are going to be more expensive than Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, for example, but... if cost is no option, then you might purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass for a partial park day.
  • What happens if I modify or cancel my confirmation? Lightning Lane Multi Pass is nonrefundable. If you cancel or modify your Resort hotel reservation after you’ve already purchased a Lightning Lane, then your selected attractions and arrival windows are subject to cancellation based on eligibility rules.
  • This is new... We are going to learn SO much in the coming weeks and months... and undoubtedly things will change.
  • CONFUSED? Not to worry -- it is why I am here. Don't be stressed -- just schedule a time to chat... you can find a time on my calendar here.
Feeling overwhelmed?
It can be confusing... That's why I am here...

All of this will seem easier once you are doing it -- and I definitely recommend spending some time with the MyDisneyExperience app before you arrive...

That being said, It can feel overwhelming. Please -- don't be overwhelmed. It is why I'm here!
